Wolves matchworn shirts

                          Wolves International shirts

 ANDY MUTCH 1988/89

In May 2014 I purchased 3 International shirts direct from Andy.

He played four times for England,3 times for England B alongside Bully and once for the U21 v Poland all in 1988/89.

His debut was in Switzerland when England won 2-0,the starting line up featured David Platt,Gary Palister,Gary Mabbutt,Tony Dorigo,Steve Bull and Paul Gascoigne.

This is his shirt from that game.

Poland U21 shirt, swopped with Andy Mutch.Bully was due to play in this game but was called up for the full squad to face Scotland at Hampden Park and the rest is history !

Iceland B swopped with Andy Mutch who came on as a substitute, ending the game upfront with Steve Bull.

Wolves & Northern Ireland legend,Robbie Dennison.Signed from WBA in 1987 for £20,000 he made over 300 appearances for Wolves scoring 49 times including 2 at Wembley. Robbie also played 18 times for Northern Ireland.

ITALY v NORTHERN IRELAND 22nd January 1997

Very rare shirt and one of my favourites.

Knew the shirt was coming but the boots were a complete surprise !

The person who made this possible visits my websites so I would like to say thankyou once again, you are a true mate.

Joleon Lescott shirt from the last game before Euro 2012. He started on the subs bench but due to a serious injury to Gary Cahill early in the game,Joleon came on and was soon in the wars himself with a serious cut which covered his shirt in blood. As a result he had to wear his spare shirt and play the rest of the game with his head bandaged, bringing back memories of Terry Butcher and Paul Ince .

Boots were issued for the game but Joleon wore the green ones as shown above in the second half . Assuming he must have taken studs from these boots during half time because of the drops of blood all over both of them.

Rear rugby length studs still intact, other studs removed on both boots

Fantastic addition to the matchworn collection from the only England player to make the official UEFA team of the tournament Euro 2012

Took a big gamble with this shirt because not only was it framed there was also a very good chance it could be fake.

The first problem was getting it out of the frame, luckily the shirt was only fixed to the foam backboard with pins and came out completely undamaged. Dedicated " To Ken,a great family friend, all the best " I knew the signature was real but was the shirt ?

No embroidered shirts were ever available for sale but a lot of far east fakes have surfaced in recent years with near perfect embroiderey. The only way to tell for sure is the white collar label which is below the standard blue one bearing the code which was only on the player shirts for this tournament. Very few people know the code, myself included,so the only way to find out was to ask matchworn legend and leading expert "Shakey".He confirmed that the shirt is indeed genuine.

Fantastic shirt worn by a former Wolves and England captain in the World Cup Finals, doesn't come much better for a Wolves and England collector.

One of 3 quality shirts I purchased from 'Bob' a former Wolves employee, one of these is on display in the new Wolves museum.

Excellent Adidas made shirt, lot of detail and top notch embroiderey
