Wolves matchworn shirts

                               Home shirt 1986/88

First time for a long while I have got so excited about a new shirt. Not only matchworn,it is also unwashed !

With undoubted provenance, speaking to Robbie Dennison recently he confirmed that each player was issued with one shirt only for this tournament.

Match worn and unwashed at Wembley stadium in April 1988 a month before the Sherpa van trophy at the same venue.

Mud and sweat stains this is my first Wolves shirt worn by the legend that is Steve Bull and a shirt I am very proud to have in the collection.

Robbie Dennison Matchworn

Another superb shirt from Robbie's private collection. Each player was issued just one shirt for this game.

In 1987-88 Wolves had been crowned 4th division champions and Steve Bull had plundered 52 goals when Wolves walked out at Wembley to play Burnley in the final of the Sherpa Van Trophy.Andy Mutch headed the first, his 23rd goal of the season then Robbie curled home a beauty to win the game 2-0.

More than 50,000 Wolves fans were at the game, believed to be the largest one club exodus of all time to a game in England and in a match between two 4th division teams.
